The Shadow of a Girl...

Balloon Shadow

Few words she had to say
For she was a shadow
Dancing in the sunlight
Until she flew away
Hands clinging to balloons
And not a word to say.

I am feeling overwhelmed and drained these days. There are many words and emotions I am only pouring out onto journal pages. But, one recent and splendid experience was with balloons this weekend.

This past Saturday I helped with an event on campus and one of my jobs ended up being that I helped make balloons, took them all over campus to bring attention to locations guests needed to go, and gave many of them away to children at the end of the event. I was positively giddy throughout all of those activities. And, at the end of the day I was able to take some home and take one blue balloon to my Grandma. She smiled and said it was beautiful and I smiled and my heart rejoiced at her joy. Lastly, I swayed with my balloon bunch as I took pictures with them in the afternoon sunshine. Balloons bring out a childlike joy in me.

Sometimes when life is tumultuous, it is good to embrace the little sunshine moments. But, most of all, it is good to be anchored in Joy.

Thoughts to ponder-

Do balloons bring a smile to your face?
What are the little sunshine moments you've embraced lately?
